I intend to explore and research how technology might aid children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. I’ve noticed that my grandson’s behavior has deteriorated over the last seven months when he returns to visit her mother’s house and is continually going from one place to the next. My wife and I trained him to sign and speak, but he has no interest in signing or picking up new words. I initially assumed he was going through a phase. Technology can benefit children with ADHD by assisting them in being focused and creating a simple checklist.

My data gathering strategy would need to address several topics, including the following: How might technology assist children with ADHD? Which software, hardware, or devices will assist them in concentrating, remembering, and completing their assignments? What advantages does a teacher or parent have while helping a child with ADHD, to name a few?

The data sources that I will use to ensure triangulation, or a multi-instrument approach is to categorize each group or type of stakeholder for the program evaluating children with ADHD in schools. Then include a comparable number of people from each stakeholder group in the study.

I plan to research on the effects of Covid-19 and it’s impact on student learning and how the pandemic has affected the mental health of learners and teachers within school. There is limited research conducted within the education sector on how many students have been generally affected. As well as the effects the pandemic had on the mental health of students and staff specifically zoomed in on a secondary school. 

I will utilize interviews, observation and questionnaires to conduct such a research. This research will be specific to a secondary school. And only a sample of students and teachers will be approached. All rights will be protected and ethical consideration will be observed and practiced.
